DIPLOMA IN COMPUTER GRAPHIC DESIGN

INTRODUCTION

The Diploma in Computer Graphic Design provides students with the knowledge of fundamental graphic design concepts and understanding on how to produce effective visual communications. Student will learn the concepts of incorporating color, typography, page layout and various design trends for different products and media. Student will be required to produce a design portfolio to demonstrate their understanding of the concepts taught and also the skills acquired in using the various graphic and multimedia software tools.

COURSE'S AIMS

This course is designed to meet the following aims :-

• To enable students to understand the various international design trends and   concepts.
• To develop the students creativity and problem solving skills.
• To develop skills in various graphic design software such as the range of   Macromedia and Adobe Software Suites.
• To enable students to identify the right visual communication for different media   environments.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Upon completion of this program, graduates will be able to work as junior graphic designers, instructional designers, art directors, packaging designers, web designers and multimedia developers.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Candidates must have at least one of the following:
• SPM (with 3 credits) and pass Art Studies. Candidates without Art Studies in SPM   are required to attend an interview/presentation of artwork.
• Other equivalent qualification.
• Certificate in the relevant field from a recognized institution of higher learning.
