DIPLOMA IN COMPUTER GRAPHIC DESIGN
INTRODUCTION
Diploma in Computer Graphic Design introduces students to the traditional elements of design including sketching, illustration, storyboarding to the state of the art graphic design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, Lightwave, web tools, etc.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 3 credits in SPM / ‘O’ level / Senior Middle 3 or equivalent, with a credit in English.
- Applicants with less than 3 credits in SPM / ‘O’ level / Senior Middle 3 or other equivalent qualification will be required to sit for an entry test.
- Mature applicants (above 21 years) with minimum of one SPM credit or other equivalent qualification will not be required to sit for the entry test.
- Applicants do not need to have prior computing knowledge.
COURSE'S AIMS
This course is designed to meet the following:-
• Provide an educational foundation for a range of creative, technical and management careers in graphics.
• Provide specialized studies directly relevant to pathways of graphic design in which students intend to seek employment.
• Enable students to effectively combine the artistic and creative problem-solving skills to produce professionally executed designs and campaigns.
• Expose students to the state-of-the art digital design tools.
• Expose students to the use of digital film, video, audio & editing systems.
• Expose students to develop creative web sites.
CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
On completion of this program, graduates can work in advertising agencies, graphic design studios, magazine/newspaper/book publishers, printing companies, sales promotion firms, in-house design departments or corporations and institutions such as banking & financial institutions. Graduates will be able to work as a graphic designer, animator, web designer, junior art director, trainer, etc.
