DIPLOMA IN ACCOUNTING
INTRODUCTION
The Diploma in Accounting provides students with the opportunity to acquire effective knowledge and skills in accounting studies. The program gives a sound knowledge of the principles and core concepts of accounting, along with an analysis of the various corporate financial statements. The Diploma equips candidates with knowledge, skills and understanding of the best practices in accounting and an appreciation of the value of research, critical thinking and effective communication. Meanwhile, graduates develop professional understanding in areas such as finance, management, accounting, auditing and taxation.
COURSE’S AIMS
This course is designed to meet the following aims :-
• To equip graduates with the fundamental theory and practice of business accounting
and finance
• To enhance financial reporting and presentation skills
• To produce graduates who are able to analyze accounting problems ethically, as well
as effectively
CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
Upon completion of this program, graduates are able to work as accounts assistants, financial advisors, loan officers, administrative support in the finance industry and as officers and supervisors in financial and commercial institutions.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must have at least one of the following:
• SPM (with 3 credits), including a credit in Mathematics or other equivalent qualification
• Certificate in Business with a minimum CGPA of 2.00
