DIPLOMA IN IT (SOFTWARE ENGINEERING)

 

INTRODUCTION

Diploma in Information Technology (Software Engineering) prepares a student to be an application developer/programmer in today’s web-based environment. Students are exposed to the fundamentals of problem solving and analytical skills to a range of latest software development languages such as the Java and .Net platforms.

 

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 3 credits in SPM / ‘O’ level / Senior Middle 3 or equivalent, with a credit in English.
  • Applicant with less than 3 credits in SPM / ‘O’ level / Senior Middle 3 or other equivalent qualification will be required to sit for an entry test.
  • Mature applicants (above 21 years) with minimum of one SPM credit or other equivalent qualification will not be required to sit for the entry test.
  • Applicants do not need to have prior computing knowledge.

This course is designed to meet the following:-

• Provide students with a comprehensive understanding and grasp of the skills    related to software engineering principles and techniques.

• Enable students to choose the most appropriate practices for application in    software design and development.

• Provide the necessary practical skills in industry popular application development    tools such as Java, .Net, PHP, C++, etc.

On completion of this program, graduates will be able to pursue their career in almost all types of businesses, especially those relying on the application of ICT information systems or in industries involving software development and outsourcing.
